Mission Statement: To support the Swan Valley Fire Department, EMS training, emergency preparedness, community fire, safety, and health education.

SAFE is a 501(c)(3) organization and is registered as a nonprofit organization within the state of Idaho.

Our hope is that the SAFE Foundation can help empower our entire community to make the Valley a safer and healthier place to live.

Our goal is to train every Valley resident in CPR and essential first aid skills to save a life. We would like to ensure every household has the tools necessary to stop life-threatening bleeding and other emergencies, including a first aid kit with essential supplies for immediate emergency care, as well as a tourniquet and Narcan.

We plan to place 6 to 10 AEDs in locations across the Valley for rapid response.

We intend to train all of our elementary school educators with the skills and confidence to respond to an emergency by teaching them CPR and first aid. We hope to also empower the next generation with life-saving skills by training the eighth graders each year in CPR and first aid.

We feel by investing in training today we can save lives for generations. A community prepared = a community saving lives.

About Randy Fowler, Founder of SAFE

Randy was born into a medical family and always wanted to be a doctor. He met his wife Keri while they were both working at the same hospital. He offered to take her blood pressure for life, and she took him up on his offer.

Randy spent his career as a full-time emergency physician in Pocatello, Idaho, including supervising Life Flight. He served as adjunct faculty at Idaho State University, teaching nursing students, medical students, physician assistants, and paramedics.

Randy is passionate about emergency medicine and disaster preparedness. He and his wife live in Swan Valley approximately half-time while still remaining involved in the medical community in Pocatello.
